Today's tip: Although you can get your own private email and website for a few $/month, try it for free [at least until until you get a feel for what you need]. Kudos to Google for their Applications! 
Extra tip: Buy your domain name through Google. I's only $10/year and it will save you the  time and confusion of configuration settings necessary for a domain name purchased elsewhere.
